Total Time = 1h 58m 34s
Overall Rank = 801/2058
Age Group = 40-44
Age Group Rank = 48/191
Pre-race routine:

Banana early, water and Gu prior to race
Event warmup:

running to the start after getting my inhaler from Kevin
Run
  • 1h 58m 34s
  • 13.1 miles
  • 09m 03s  min/mile
Comments:

Race was very difficult on my lungs. Took 2nd Gu at mile 5; used inhaler two other times during the race. Was right at 90 minutes at 10 mile mark which is where i wanted to be. Last 5K of the race was into the wind. Min/mile decreased to 9:20-9:40 pace including some walking. Pushed hard to the finish...then about collapsed!
What would you do differently?:

Make a pre-race list and check it over and over and over.
Post race
Warm down:

fell into the arms of others and assisted into a w/c and a nice warm medical tent with people staring at me.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Starting the race in the very last possible row, weaving in/out of people and running 8:20-8:40 min/mile to make up for lost time.

Event comments:

Did pretty well with the adverse conditions.

Great job, awesome time, know how hard it can be in the cold weather, luckily my asthma didn't bother me at all for the 1/2 mary, but kicked my a$$ for the 5k the day before.
