Comments: Race was very difficult on my lungs. Took 2nd Gu at mile 5; used inhaler two other times during the race. Was right at 90 minutes at 10 mile mark which is where i wanted to be. Last 5K of the race was into the wind. Min/mile decreased to 9:20-9:40 pace including some walking. Pushed hard to the finish...then about collapsed! What would you do differently?: Make a pre-race list and check it over and over and over. Post race
Warm down: fell into the arms of others and assisted into a w/c and a nice warm medical tent with people staring at me. What limited your ability to perform faster: Starting the race in the very last possible row, weaving in/out of people and running 8:20-8:40 min/mile to make up for lost time. Event comments: Did pretty well with the adverse conditions. Last updated: 2007-02-19 12:00 AM
