My schedule does not allow me to join a master's swim group. Does anyone know of a coach/person that would be willing to help me once or twice - I'm still struggling with the whole sinking hips thing. Thanks.

Chris, I found a coach at my local Y that helped immensely. I paid like $120 for 6 half hour lessons. The biggest thing for me when trying to keep my hips and legs up is head position. I have to really make sure to keep my head down and swim thru the crown of my head and not my forehead. Also, I have really had to work on rolling my head with my body to breath instead of lifting.

I don't do it myself, but Pullen Aquatic Center has a triathlete class. I think it is at 7pm a couple of days a week, to late for me to drive back to Raleigh.

I've never seen it, but my boss tells me Pullen opens their's up sometimes, but then there are very few lanes.

Yup. Pullen, some mornings does "long course". But they also hold youth practices at the same time...so they give the rest of us three lanes. Slow = water walkers. Fast = egocentric forty-something men who think they are Mark Spitz. Medium = one lane for everyone else...very crowded. I don't go to Pullen much any more, Optimist is less busy in the morning.
