Comments: Since I've been dealing with this knee pain, My main goal for the event was to get through it without limping in. I planned to be at or just a little faster than training pace. I started off feeling great, but I was breathing easy. After about the 3 mile mark or so, I started getting pain in my foot and knee. I had to slow my pace considerably, but I was able to mostly work out of it at the lower pace, then could pick it up a little at the very end. As soon as I got past the finish line and stopped, my knee really started hurting. What would you do differently?: Perhaps I would have been better off starting slower, but it's hard to know. Post race
Warm down: There was a good uphill walk back to the club house that served as a cool down. What limited your ability to perform faster: The knee and foot pain. Maybe I need to re-investigate shoes. Event comments: This was a beautiful course that was worth driving to for that alone. Also, there was baked ziti at the end. Yum. Last updated: 2007-02-18 12:00 AM

It was quite a walk to the start line from the club house. Then I did a slow jog for about a mile and a half.
