Comments:

I was the sacrificial lamb for the team today. My placing was basically of no significance since my teammate won the race! What I did was I took the hole shot at the very beginning and I crushed the field. I led the first three laps at the fastest pace I could hold just to string the field out and seperate the idiot-noobies from the decent guys. The field didn't split, but it was definately strung out for most of the race. After I pulled off (and everyone was gasping and clutching thier chests :)) I sat in the back-middle for about 5-6 laps. Then I went back up to the front and blocked for our guy for most of the race. I did try an attack, but it didn't stick; the field was having none of it. At the end I did the initial lead out for our eventual winner and our guy who finished 9th. Pretty successful day.
What would you do differently?:

Make a more strategic attack, but it wouldn't have worked anyway.
Post race
Warm down:

Rode around beautiful downtown gainesville.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

fitness

Event comments:

Nice job. Fun being a domestique, isn't it?

You betcha
Actually I probably did have more fun doing what I did than sitting in and then doing mediocre in a field sprint(I am no sprinter... yet).

Sweet...sounds like a good time!  Members of our tri club are planning on doing some local crits this year....like the TT, that'll be a new experience.

Keep up the good work!

make sure they do some practice before they jump in one. There wer some stupid people in our race. Also, it helps if you know how to bump people safely. Go to a grassy field and practice bumping elbow to elbow, hip to elbow and shifter to shifer.
