Event warmup:

Jumping around and cursing at my iPod for freezing up. Got it working right before the gun went off.
Run
  • 2h 31m 12s
  • 21.4 kms
  • 07m 04s  min/km
Comments:

Some parts of the trail were pretty clear, but other parts were ankle-twisting cow-path-like. I pushed through pain and wanting to stop, thinking the whole time that I didn't want to miss the award ceremony at 11:00 because Shaun came in second! I worked hard to keep my pace to 7 minutes/km or better. Ate both packs of Jelly Belly Sport Beans by the time I passed mile 7. Felt hungry around 15kms. Legs felt like lead around 18kms.
What would you do differently?:

Train more in the weeks leading up to the race.
Post race
Warm down:

Eating a huge brunch. Delicious!

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Lack of training over the last few weeks.

Event comments:

We swore to not do next year's race. Let's see if we stick with that.

With a name like Hypothermic Half, I can just imagine what the conditions were actually like. (Especially if your iPod battery started reacting to the cold)

Sounds like you ran a really good race and were able to stay on pace in spite of some late race fatigue.

Very nicely done
