Nose Plugs?

Subject: Nose Plugs?
Does anyone use nose plugs in the pool? I am drawing in water through my nose even though I inhale through my mouth. I am wondering if a set of nose plugs would help. I guess I am still inhaling a bit through my nose when I come up for a gasp of air.

I use a nose plug. I may try to learn to do without, but seeing as I'm not planning on doing any swim meets, I will probably just continue using it.

I don't use them. I just make sure I'm exhaling out of my nose while underwater and the moment I turn for air, and normally don't have any problems.

I use them. I am getting better without them but it takes time and form. its just hard to do sometimes.

I try to exhale out the nose but I can't seem to get all the air out of my land loving lungs. I'm trying to sign up with a Masters swim group, M.V. thanks for the response

It is impossible for me not to draw air in through my nose.  I don't know what my problem is.  I have tried everything my whole life I just can't swim with out it.  I use TYR nose clips and the Lane 4 nose clips.  I like the TYR better though.

I tried noseplugs and i felt like I lost a lot of endurance.   You still draw in some oxygen through your nose, even if you don't mean to.  I fellt like I couldn't get enough air with the plugs on.  Try exhaling out your nose under water to prevent the water from entering.  Also, you will get used to the water and it won't irritate as much after a little while.
