I saw the posts for San Diego. Being a mom, I need to keep it close to home. Anyone up in North County?

Tell be about your virtual Tri, I'm hoping to do the Mission Bay Sprint on 10/3, so depending on what your are planning, it could be good.

It is going to be a triathlon done by all the BT'ers at around the same time all over the world!
Ours is going to be held at Fiesta Island. It will be approximately 700 meter swim , 10-12 mile bike and a 5k run. it should be fun and a good warm up for Mission bay

I'm up in North County. The practice for the Mission Bay sounds good too, I need to get my wetsuit though.

First official post (how exciting)
I live in San Marcos and have recently recruited a friend to participate with me in the Reebok Women's Tri on 8/17. We are wimps and are only going to do the super sprint...hey at least it's a tri! I am not so fast or experienced in the cycle arena (in fact I am going to pick up my very 1st new road bike on Saturday). So I will have to pass for now on any group rides until I feel more confident. I have yet to venture out into open water for the swim (still kind of freaked out by it all), but my friend is draggin me out to La Jolla next week for a swim. Pool swimming is fine but that empty water freaks me out!!!

I'll be starting the semester up at CSUSM on Monday so I am looking for additional motivation to continue training. School stress = reverting back to bad habits (no exercise). It's great to hear that you all are so close by....

I also read the VR Tri you have planned for Sep. 25 sounds interesting, but I doubt I can finish the whole thing....

Once I feel like I can hang with you all I'd love to train with you.

Happy training...

I excited to see so many people interested in getting together in N. Co. Of course I chose to post this at one of the busiest times of the year. (start of school, and labor day) I'd love to see us put together some rides and runs in the morning. I won't be suggesting any until I get through next week (1st week of school - 4 kids!), but if anyone is going, let me know. Thanks. :-)

Hi All! I just moved to North County a couple months ago from the midwest. I live in the Oceanside/Vista area and would love to have others to train with. My work schedule is pretty crazy, but I usually run at Oceanside beach (down Strand) on Monday and Friday evenings, and bike down Coast Hwy on Wednesday evenings and Sunday mornings. I'm definitely willing to change my schedule to train with others. Let me know if any of you want to get together.

I'm also doing the Mission Bay Tri on Oct. 3rd. It will be my first, so I'm definitely a little nervous.

Madcow- I'm definitely interested in the virtual tri. Is there anything we need to do to sign up for it?

Hey Jessica,
Welcome to San Diego and to the club! The virtual tri will be the Triathlon club of San Diego's IronicMan Tri, a .24 mile swim/ 11.2 mile bike and 2.62 mile run. It is the club's beginner triathlon, but anyone can do it. New people are always welcome to try a club race for free so all you have to do is show up.

Here is the link:

The tri club also has a lot of N. County workouts during the week and a few beginner clinics and workouts.
If you have any questions just ask.
take care
Tom
Also if anyone is interested I can take people on a ride covering the Mission Bay Triathlon course, just let me know

I live in Mission Valley, and am looking forward to the IronicMan. It'll be my first Tri. I don't expect to win, but I just want to get some help and get into the idea or tris.

There really seems to be a lot of San Diegans here at BT. We should get together sometime and see if we can arange some group workouts. Also TCSD is a great place to get to meet other triathletes.

Hi Guys,

Count me in for the Virtual TRI too!

I might be able to make the Sat workouts about twice a month.  I have some neighbors I ride with on Sat mornings too.

Dan

BTW, I live in Penasquitos, so I'm sort of "mid-county'!
