How many cups of coffee per day?

Wow, 5oz is a serving?  In that case, I used to drink 6-10 cups per day.  Black.

I cut it out completely for awhile a couple years ago as I didn't like the "need" I felt for it.  Now I have maybe 2 cups (by the 5oz definition) once a week and maybe another 2-4 over the weekend.

I have a cup or 2 (or 3) before a race, but not a workout.  It's partly for the "jolt", but mostly because coffee helps "get things moving". 

I usually have 2 - 3 in the morning.  Sometimes I'll have more in the afternoon.  It just depends on how my day is going. I take it with cream and sugar.

I don't usually drink it before a workout.  It makes my stomach hurt if I do that. 

16 oz for the commute into the city. small cup around 10:30.  Black only

weekends - it's about 2x that as I take the kids out on saturday and sunday is bagel day.

I'm usually consume ~12-24 oz of coffee each day depending on what kind of day it is, how much sleep I had, etc.  If I'm doing any S-B-R in the AM I'll definitely have at least 1-2 cups at home before I depart.  Otherwise I wait until I get to work.  5 oz is not worth it, get me the mug!

Now I've cut way way back on my diet soda consumption, so a cup of coffee in the late afternoon is sometimes had too.

So that's why your kids' b-ball team does so well--you've got 'em juiced up on caffeine!

On average... zero cups a day.

Oh, yeah, I mean, if you want to include my weekly mocha with extra chocolate and one shot... that's still closer to zero. 

Ah... but if we're talking about caffeine, I can join the convo. I drink at least one 16 oz "cup" of tea each day, right around this time (just finished it).  Sometimes I'll have a second "cup" later in the day.

I like lots of sugar, and milk in my tea.  I drink black teas, like Earl Grey, Ceylon, or Assam.  For Lent, I'm giving up the milk and half the sugar, so I just put in two teaspoons (yes, I have an actual teaspoon measuring spoon on my desk to keep me honest) for 16 oz. 

I'd drink tea all day if I could.  But I try to switch to water when I'm done, and keep the tea as a "treat". 

Both my parents and my sister are coffee fiends, and they wonder if I was switched at birth.  I don't even like coffee-flavored things.  Not a big fan of tiramisu even.

Has anyone tried Mate? 

Two mugs every morning (figures out to 4 "cups" with a very rare third "cup" in the evening.  Pure, unadulterated, coffee (preferably, without the rasberry/vanilla/chocolate/??? "flavorings" added to the beans). 

What I've found is 2 mugs gets me to the edge of super-saturation.  Any more, and it all comes out of suspension. 

decaff coffee here. one at lunch and probabaly one in the evening. mug sizes! lots of semi skimmed milk in it. but if i'm havign a study day i will probabaly havee more. am partial to a starbucks caramel macchiatto every once in a while.

tea is decaff earl grey on my morning break and added either decaff earl grey or decaff normal on a study day. love a proper earl grey every now and then.  

What is a "proper" earl grey?  Just curious. 

Dang you people.  I see the title of this thread and I want to go make coffee.

I have probably 2-4 cups a day.  Mine is 99% decaf these days though. I too am trying to avoid caffeine...

Always with some kind of creamer...sometimes with sugar.
