Pre-race routine:

Meet up with friends. Ate a gu and 2 puffs.
Event warmup:

Jogged to the start from the car.

Comments:

The run went well. My first mile was in 7:24 and that scared me a little but I felt strong so I continued on. 3 months ago I would not have been able to hold that pace..not even for 3 miles. Throughout the run I would catch myself slowing down so I would make sure to get back on pace. I didn't need to slow down as I was feeling good..mile after mile. Each time I passed a mile marker and I would hear my splits I knew I was right on track to make my goal. Awesome.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing.
Post race
Warm down:

Waited for friends to finish and then headed over to the shuttle. Then proceeded to wait on a bus for 40 minutes in the freezing cold. So no warm down :)

What limited your ability to perform faster:

As always, I did. However I don't feel like I could have given another second on this day.

Congratulations on a great race and an under 50 time for the Peachtree qualifying. Keep up with those dreaded intervals and hills and you'll keep setting new PRs.
