A little about me. I live in Bedford, Tx. I am married and I sell copiers for Konica Minolta in Carrollton. I am a member at Fellowship Church in Grapevine and belong to 24 Hour fitness. I would like to get connected with some groups in the area while I grow in this exciting sport.

What I am doing about this. This year I decided to get involved in endurance sports. I am built with a very slim frame 6'6" 180. The first thing you would think is that I play basketball, but I just could never get passionate about it. I can run well, so currently I am training to run the Big D Texas Marathon April 1st. I figured that running would build a good cardiovascular base before triathlons. Once I finish strong in that event I am going to turn my efforts over to triathlon training. I run well and bike well but I swim like a tug boat. My goal is to be competitive at the international distance.

I hope to see all of you out on a course or in the gym.

Take Care,

Frank

Frank,

Welcome. I'm surprised Fellowship doesn't have a tri group. As big as they are, I'll bet there are plenty of multi-sport athletes.

I'm way over in the colony while also attend Fellowship in Grapevine..usually saturday 6:30 evenings, A couple of friends from there are marathon runners also., and I usually do white rock every year. I know a couple of people that used to do some sprint tri's but haven't met anyone training for any at the time.. I'm single so the singles group's are usually about team sport events

Good luck on your marathon...Hope to run into you sometime.  I do know there is a group that meets every now and then by the Radio Shack cul de sac.  I think they all are racing this weekend.  Keep in touch.

Welcome to BT.  I'm way over in McKinney, but I'll see you on the course at the Big D.  I'm running the half and hope to move up to the full mary by White Rock.

Watch the Texas forum.  There are lots of folks in the DFW area and we get together sometimes to ride and run (I don't do the swim, since I don't have a membership to LifeTime).  But whatever folks are doing, they will post it on the Texas forum.  Sometimes we even do cool things like tour the Griffen Bike factory in Decatur.
