Total Time = 1h 10m 11s
Overall Rank = 1645/2118
Age Group = 35-39
Age Group Rank = 269/336
Pre-race routine:

Starbuck's coffee and yummy cupcake
Event warmup:

None, was a little late and worried about getting to the start on time
Run
  • 1h 10m 11s
  • 4.97 miles
  • 14m 07s  min/mile
What would you do differently?:

Get there a little bit earlier, make sure I had enough battery power for my MP3 player.

This is my first official 8k since the first one I got messed up on the course.

I ran the whole way and that is a good thing.
Post race
What limited your ability to perform faster:

Not sure. Just a little bit slow.

Event comments:

I really enjoyed the race. I almost didn't do it since I have a tri next weekend and a 10k the following weekend and it was cold and windy. But I had no real reason not to and I am glad I did. A much better experience than the last one.

Course: Very flat, lots of people. I had a good time this race. It was really windy but running along the boardwalk of the beach more than made up for it. I knew it was going to be cold so I was dressed appropriately.

Great race! I wish I had known you were going to be out there; we could have met up. Great job braving the cold and windy conditions.

Gosh that had to be so pretty running alongside the ocean.  I can just hear the sound of the ocean.  Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.  Well, even if it was a little cold and windy.  Glad you had a much better time this race.  That is what it is all about!

Awesome work!  After the debacle at the last 8k race it is good to see this one was organized and you finished well!

You go girl!

Great job on your first real 8k

This is definitely a great tuneup race for your upcoming season. (Starting next week in fact)

Shamrock was definitely a well organized race and a lot of magic happened out there last weekend. A bunch of my friends were out there with you this weekend including RNC who managed to Qualify for Boston.

Good On Ya
