4 general places.  Born and raised in Cleveland, OH.  Went to college in Columbus at Ohio State and then returned to Cleveland for work.  I lived in 3 cities around Cleveland but it was all the same deal.  Then I lived in Moline, IL for 3 years.  Nice, but nothing special and not where we wanted to end up.  Now I've been in Charlotte, NC for 4 years and love it.

I'd have to say Charlotte is my favorite for the weather and proximity to a lot of other things.  But I was always happy in Cleveland, too.  Great restaraunts, sports, nightlife, etc.  (but I don't miss it too much).

Was born and raised north of Pittsburgh, went to undergrad in Clarion Pa ( not far from Dubois) lived in St. Louis for 4 years, fun city very enjoyable,
Was in Charlotte NC for a year was planning to stay there really liked it. moved to Youngstown not happy, moved to Knoxville Tenn., was nice but came back to Youngstown again (for the money, big mistake). I (and my wife) still kick myself for coming back here... Would have to say I liked North Carolina the best.

Wellsburg, West Virginia - birth to age 3
Morgantown, West Virginia - 3 to 17
Esbjerg and Toftlund, Denmark, 17-18
Oxford, Ohio - 18 - 22
Chicago, Illinois, 22 - 26
Chapel Hill, North Carolina, 26 - 27
Cincinnati, Ohio, 27 - present

In my heart I am still a small town boy, even though I had the most fun in Chicago. I am happy in Cincinnati, because that is where I am raising my family. Though if I could live a parallel life, I would go back to Almost Heaven, West Virginia.

Born in Lewisburg, PA (Central PA) and lived there 8 years
Moved to Mifflinburg, PA and lived there 10 years.
Attended US Military Academy in West Point, NY for 4 years (seemed like longer)
Short time in Anniston, AL then to Killeen, TX (FT Hood) for 5 years (6 months in Saudi Arabia).
Moved to Sandusky, OH for 7 years (Ford Motor Company).
Now I live in West Bend, WI (just outside of Milwuakee) to work for Harley-Davidson Motor Co.

While I miss the mountains of PA (I've been to PSU and the Bellefonte are many times SweetK), I think my favorite place is still in Central Texas!

Subject: RE: What places have you lived in your lifetime?

I was born and raised here in Kenosha, WI (smack between Milwaukee and Chicago on Lake Michigan).  The only other town I've lived in is Racine, WI, and that's 10 minutes north.  I moved back to Kenosha after living there for 2 years.

Though I haven't actually LIVED anywhere else, I did travel for work for awhile, with long term assignments in some areas, and it felt like I lived there.  Those areas include:

Newburgh, NY-1 1/2 hour from NYC, yet I never made it there the entire time I was working there.

Alexandria, VA-traffic SUCKS there.  But I had the most fun there as I have a lot of friends in the area.  Most memorable moment being driving around DC at 11pm on a Friday night trying to find a parking spot.  Kept driving by this "woman" who was in fact a tranvesite and/or poorly dressed drag queen...and I'm pretty sure she was a hooker.  I wanted to fix her hair...it was awful.  and NO-ONE should wear a white mini-skirt...ever.

Green Bay, WI-Yeah, still in WI...no big whoop as far as I was concerned.

Sometimes I think I'd like to live in a larger city (Kenosha isn't small, but it has a small town feel), but at the same time the thought makes me nervous.  Who knows, maybe one of these days I'll sell my house and move to Milwaukee.

I've lived with my parents in:
Snohomish, WA
Bellingham, WA
Maple Valley, WA (where they still live)

And since, I've lived in:
Renton, WA
Covington, WA
Auburn, WA
Federal Way, WA
Sumner, WA (where I live now)

Of these (okay, they're all western Washington, so it's not like climate is a big factor), my favorite was Federal Way. But that's also where I lived alone, so that may have something to do with it...

I've only lived in Tucson, AZ. Born, raised, went to school, and now married and work here. I'm not leaving anytime soon, as I love Tucson. My dad is also a Tucson native, so the roots are pretty deep here.

Grew up in Manhattan, until just before high school. More life experience from those years than all the rest combined. The territory just demanded you grow up quickly. Hard to imagine going back, though.

if I define living by one month or more in a place with no other "home" at the same time:

Millersville, PA

Socorro, NM

Northern Nevada (Elko - Austin- Ely-Reno)

Golden, CO

Venezuela

West Africa (Burkina Faso, Cote d'Ivoire, Niger) 3 years

Paris, France for a month during the above 3 years

Denver, CO - 6 years (including most of 2003 in Suriname, but I had a home in Denver, so it doesn't get its own line)

Winnemucca, NV - 19 loooong months

Reno, NV

Favorite = Denver, least favorite - Winnemucca
