Member 77 Winnipeg | Subject: RE: What places have you lived in your lifetime? Born in Toronto, Ontario. Moved to Hamburg, Germany shortly thereafter and returned to Toronto when I was six. Now live in Winnipeg, Manitoba. In the intervening years spent entire summers living with grandparents in Rendsburg (small town in northern Germany) and Nuremburg, Germany. When I was young and free, I travelled throughout all of Western Europe. (The commies woudn't let me in but, since I did not like them, I could have cared less at the time). Worked a summer in Hamburg while in University. Just love Germany!! |

Veteran 109 San Mateo, California | Subject: RE: What places have you lived in your lifetime? Born in Newport News, VA, then moved to: Colorado has been my favorite, although I missed being near a beach when I was there. No place I didn't like. Moved a lot as a kid and that has continued as an adult. Came to realize that places are about people. Everyplace has great its wonderful people and its a##holes and the trick to enjoying where you're living is to form a social circle of people you like. |

Worst - Hinsdale (a western Chicago suburb) - I'm a midwest Girl at heart, but I can't do the big city. |

Grew up in Bethesda, Maryland 2 months in France College Park, Maryland for undergard... went to grad school in Baltimore and FELT as though I lived there though my address was Olney, Maryland Warwickshire, England Roswell, Georgia I can honestly say I like all of these places... loved the experience of living and traveling abroad. D.C. metro provided amazing access to all things political and cultural, my UMD days will always be near and dear to my heart (even if Butler did not Fear the Turtle enough ), and the Atlanta 'burbs are incredibly family-oriented, the cost of living is low, and I'm partial to the mild winters. Runner | Subject: RE: What places have you lived in your lifetime? Born in Seattle, WA. Moved when I was about 2. I haven't lived many places, but visited a fair number of them, including Newburg, NY, Panama, Honduras, Tobago, and several places in the U.S. I can live anywhere, so long as there's a nice quiet pub right around the corner. At this point, it's all the same to me anymore. |

Master 1391 | Subject: RE: What places have you lived in your lifetime? Grew up in Hanover, Pennsylvania (Central PA) where my family still lives. After high school I moved to Randburg, South Africa and spent a year there as an exchange student which is by far the best year of my life. After my stint in South Africa, I moved back to PA and attended East Stroudsburg Univeristy in the Pocono Mountains. After college I moved to Washington DC to be an intern for CNN which eventually led to a job in Atlanta. I've been living in Atlanta since 1999. Eventually I would love to move to Montana. |

(There are a couple other summer moves for internships and whatnot that I didn't even list as they were only three month stretches.) |

Master 1468 Tampa, Fl | Subject: RE: What places have you lived in your lifetime? Tampa growing up till 18 Wallingford, CT -18-19 - went to a boarding school for a year after high school to get gpa up. Memphis, TN - 19 - 24 - college and stayed there for a few years after Tampa, 24 - present - Missed being in my hometown so I came back. It is nice to be where you have roots. Favorite - Tampa but I had way too much fun in Memphis (probably my friends rather than the city) Worst _Walingford, CT Absolutely hated it. Cold grey full of a$$holes. Made me realize I would never live above the Mason Dixon line. But going there was good because I was going to go to college up there, after that year I made a beeline for the South. |

Extreme Veteran 502 Woodbury, | Subject: RE: What places have you lived in your lifetime? Born in Taipei, Taiwan, then to: Bayonne, NJ -> Monterey, CA -> Twin Cities, MN -> Monterey, CA -> Twin Cities, MN while my dad was in the Navy (got out when I was 12). Then moved to another part of the Twin Cities until college. Then Boston for college (first attempt). Then the Navy (after I failed out of college) sent me to Chicago -> Orlando -> Charleston, SC -> Bremerton, WA. Now back in MN. I don't remember much of it, but my folks claim that Bayonne, NJ is the armpit of western civilization (at least it was in the mid-70's, I'm sure it is much nicer now). My brother was born there and spent the first two years of his life sick, which was immediately remedied by moving away. I guess I enjoyed the Puget Sound area the most - reasonable weather (a bit wet but never too cold) and close to the ocean. |

Oregon or Idaho could be nice, too. |

Extreme Veteran 684 Highlands Ranch, CO | Subject: RE: What places have you lived in your lifetime? Birth to 22: Boulder, CO 22 to present: Denver, CO and its lovely suburbs. I always say I'm from Boulder, but I have officially lived longer outside of Boulder. That's odd to say. Almost moved to Gaithersburg MD at 15, but my parents didn't want to move me just as I was beginning HS. They didn't ask, but I wanted to go. Edited by rjba2000 2007-03-19 2:50 PM |
