Pre-race routine:

got there early, streched out in field house. Then met BT folsk outside. We re met at the start which was three blocks from the field house.
Event warmup:

did some distance sprints with Alex keeping time. was nice to get warmed up and not have to start with my coat. Alex also rubbed my shoulders and back down before the start, it was nice.

Comments:

feel into the "zone" several times after the 3 mile mark. It was good to be running, connected to my whole body and not there at all. It was great. I was excited everytime I found myself fully checked and fully checked out. It was nice to see and be cheered on by other BT folks while running.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing- I set my own pace, did my own run. I was really good about not judging and not racing other people. I have a bad habit of running and beating myself up by saying why am not as fast or as good as that runner, but today I was in the zone and really raced my mind and the clock. my time reflects the training and mental change that is taken place as in me. ( scary I sound like a runner or tri athlete.)
Post race
Warm down:

walked back into field house. When I was ready I did some streching with Alex.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Nothing. I was faster than I thought. I was praying for 115:00, I came in 10 min a head of my goal time. Alex was not even outside cause I did not think I was going to come in that fast.

Event comments:

given the large numbers of people and running four races (5/8K and 2 youth runs) it was great. I have no real issues with the race. However, I wish they would have taken time to clean the two dead cats of the street. It was just wrong! Love the police presnece in all major intersections.
