This is my big race of the year. I did an Oly on Key Biscayne last year at the beginning of my training. This year I plan on beating my time by at least 30 minutes!

Anyone else doing this race? I checked the entry list on their web site and it wasn't very long.

See you there. Bob Opkins - 50. I think we have to go over the Rickenbacker Causeway 3 times on the bike and once on the run. Should be fun.

Im really excited about this race actually. I used to spend summers on the beach in Key Biscayne when I was a kid. I've since left florida and moved to michigan and now moved back to central/north florida so as soon as I saw a race there I had to go. Last time I was there was about 8 years ago.

I checked the race course and I think we have to bike over the causeway 3 times and run it once. Hopefully the weather will cool off in the next few weeks.

Several times on the bike. We don't have any hills down here so it is somewhat of a challenge to do. For a sprint it isn't too bad but 3 times will make it a bit tougher. That makes 6 climbs in all.

Hopefully the weather will cooperate. Many races have re-scheduled due to the hurricanes. Unfortunately, it is always a last minute thing.

Good luck with the storm. We are expecting some high winds but it looks like you will get the bad stuff. Hope it veers back out to the ocean.

Looks like it will mostly go around us we'll only have a tropical storm however Disney cancelled their Oly this weekend with only a partial refund! I had originally planned to do that disney race but a friend suggested otherwise as the disney events tend to be poorly organized. Great friend!

Good decision not to race. The Miami Man 1/2 & International distance were cancelled for today. No refunds. Glad I didn't sign up for this. We will probably get some of those people signing up for the Tri America race.

I did the Disney 1/2 last May. It was well organized but the transition area was terrible and the run was on the cart path of the golf course.

Let's hope the weather cooperates for the 10th.

I was disappointed with my results. Tried to break 3 hours but didn't make it. My run was real slow, probably due to the bridge! It was a tough race. Looks like you did good though!

I'm seriously starting to think about it since my bike and I are traveling to Miami from Nov. 19 to Dec. 1.

Any recommended places to swim/bike/run in the Miami area (I'm quite familiar with Key Biscayne)?

I dont live in south florida anymore but that route over rickenbacker causeway and out key biscayne seemed very popular I saw a lot of cyclist out there during the race (who werent in the race obviously). Of course there are a lot of scantily clad girlies out there so that may explain the popularity of the route   Im married though so I didnt see these women but was informed by others.

I missed the scantily clad women too. May have to do the route again next week.
