Subject: IMAZ T1 & T2 question

After exiting the changing tent, are we going to be lucky enough to have our bike waiting for us with a volunteer or do we need to go get it from the rack? I though I had seen this service before, but could be wrong.

Also, coming on off the bike course do we rack or is that a hand-off?

At IMLP, it was hit and miss with T1. Depending on how crowded it was when you came out of the water, you may have had to grab your own bike or a volunteer may have grabbed it. Coming into T2, volunteers grabbed all the bikes.

I imagine IMAZ will be similar.

I won't have my bike shoes on my bike, so I'll have to put them on in the tent?  And all I should have with my bike is my helmet, if a volunteer will be getting my bike?

There will be nothing with your bike - your helmet, shoes, nutrition, sunglasses, and whatever else you want for the bike will be in your T1 bag.

Good to know!  I just talked with my coach and he's going to go over everything I need to know this weekend.  I feel like an idiot-

You're not an idiot - I would love to hear what your coach says about transitions (or anything else).

I know I'm not an idiot, but I've been concentrating on my training, nutrition,  and family that I haven't thought about this question before.  So, I'm glad this was brought up here.

Only two weeks out and I don't know about everyone else, but I'm ready for it to be here!

Really? We can not leave water bottles on the frame or in behind the seat holders on the bikes? So we'll need to basicaly run up to the bike with shoes and helmet on carrying our T1 bag with waterbottles and whatnot in it?

What about having water in your areo bottle all ready?

I've done IMC twice and we could leave our bottles and nutrition on the bikes. We also had to grab our own bikes coming out of T1.

I looked through the Athlete's Guide and don't really see anything specific on this.

You can put your water bottles on your bike before the race starts.

Right, things that are actually connected to your bike are cool (water bottles, tool kit, stuff like that), just nothing hanging loose like a helmet.
