exporting routes to Garmin 305

This is driving me crazy.  I can plan a route out on mapmyrun - then I click the "garmin crs" file button.  this brings up a window with a load of technobabble in it.

Does anyone know the next steps I have to take to export the route to the garmin training centre before uploading it to the 305 itself?
