Subject: Recommend a tri top- non wetsuit race
Hi all,
Have an OD and HIM race coming up in the next couple of months. Both in very hot humid conditions (90+ degrees and 95% humidity) so no wetsuits.

Can anyone recommend a tri top that can handle all three legs? Most seem to not really be suitable for the swim leg due to pockets. My big concern is that I get sunburnt very easily so looking for a bit of UV protection.

Alternatively I would be prepared to change at T1- in which case all I would need would be some sort of swim top (with the UV protection)

Best I can see at the moment seem to be the Cervelo Alpha and Beta tops.

I swam all last season in just tri-tops. The pocket is not really a drag on either my trisuit or on my seperate tri top, if I wear that one. The tri top is made out of such breathable material that the water just flows through the pocket with no discernable drag, and the tri suit is built with a very streamlined and narrow pocket opening, which is held shut by elastic. So there's no real drag that I've seen caused by the pocket on a trisuit, certainly no more than all that zipper crap dangling off the back of a wetsuit.

Wow, no pants? Seems like the pocket would be the least of your worries as far as drag is concerned...

All joking aside, the BT tri top has a small pocket in the back.

And looks fabulous.

Since your name is Matt, I'm going to go out on a limb and assume you don't have "support" issues with tri tops.  If you do, uh... okay maybe i'm leaving in a little joking!
