Swim
Comments: Put in a too slow swim time, so decided to just take it easy and focus on my half IM pace for the swim. Wasn't worth the 20 - 30 sec. to have to worry about passing people etc. Good pace for the half. Felt fresh coming out of the pool What would you do differently?: Put in the right swim time! Transition 1
Comments: It's all a blur. Felt really slow and cold, cold cold. Bike
Comments: The wind and hard rain made it just a survival ride. Dogs out on the course chasing me, potholes rain, wind. It was rough. Survived and nocked a min. & half off last year's ride. What would you do differently?: Control over the weather?! Transition 2
Comments: So cold, hard to move. Couldn't get my bike on rack, couldn't get shoes on wet feet. What would you do differently?: Again, control over weather, dry feet & warmth! Run
Comments: So cold, couldn't feel feet, hands or legs. Pushed it as hard as I could but was just cold and hurting. 1.5 min. slower than goal pace but once again, I finished and the weather was so bad so that was the victory!! Post race
Warm down: No warm down, just tried to stay warm and somewhat dry in the downpours What limited your ability to perform faster: Cold & wet Event comments: Even in the downpour there were more volunteers for this race than any other race I've done. When the weather is nice it is an amazing race, really fun & supportive! Last updated: 2007-02-07 12:00 AM
