Event warmup:

none
Swim
  • 42m 2s
  • 2187 yards
  • 01m 55s / 100 yards
Comments:

good swim. the wetsuit really helped more than I ever thought it would. i was super happy with my time here. it was very close to what i have been doing in the pool and any advantage i had with the wetsuit was negated by the ridiculous swimmimg conditions and the sick waves.
What would you do differently?:

nothing. i took my time and just made sure i was focused on form.
Transition 1
  • 08m 39s
Comments:

I took forever. It was like I was getting ready for prom. I didn't want to forget anything on my bike.
What would you do differently?:

just move faster.
Bike
  • 2h 20m 4s
  • 37.4 miles
  • 16.02 mile/hr
Comments:

i just read i was slowest in my age group and a 15 year old girl smoked me. maybe i should have put a little more into the bike. i was very conservative to make sure i had gas for the run.
What would you do differently?:

i realize i could go much harder and still be fine...
Transition 2
  • 05m
Comments:

slow in this transition too. i just took my time.
What would you do differently?:

move faster
Run
  • 1h 27m 10s
  • 9.3 miles
  • 09m 22s  min/mile
Comments:

i felt full of liquid the whole time. need to train my body to process liquid better.
What would you do differently?:

nothing. i did what i wanted and it worked. this was faster than i ever run in training.
Post race
Warm down:

hung out and ate a banana

What limited your ability to perform faster:

i just held back myself

Event comments:

this was my first long distance race. it was a great test for the half im coming in six weeks. i loved it. did the race with joel and jack west.
