I've heard the first half is mostly uphill and the second half is downhill.  At least thats what the profile map looks like.

First 10 miles are hilly. Middle 36 are pretty easy rollers, and fast...The last 10 have some hills.
It's a fair course, IMO

Has everyone started training yet.  I don't start until end of May.   Figure I don't need to, "I wake up in the morning and excellence" so I should be fine.  just kidding.  I'm only doing a 12 week olympic to HIM bridge.

Scroll down a little on the NH page to the thread titled  "Timberman Bike Course Test Ride"

resident expert Max to a yoeman's job describing it.  I wud say no, it's not as bad as it looks , then again I train on hills.  I'd say its challenging but fair.

A few photos from the bike course...my camera died when I hit Route 106, and I didn't capture the hills very well, but you can see NH is (slowly) moving into Spring.  I'll fill in a few more photos on future training rides/runs.

Anyone interest in doing a weekend training camp for T-man? I am planning to head up there on the last weekend of July (07-28 & 07-29) for a 2 day training weekend and do something like:

Sat AM: 6:30AM swim at Ellacoya for 2000 yds or around 30 min, then a break for breakfast and then around 8:30AM head out to ride the T-man loop (1st half easy, 2nd half race pace) get back to Ellacoya and run 30-40 min on the run easy course. Rest, enjoy the afternoon and later meet up for group dinner.

Sun AM: early swim at Ellacoya for 2000 yds or around 30 min (optional), meet around 8:00AM to ride the T man loop (mostly easy), get back to Ellacoya and run 1 to 1.5 loop of the run course half easy half race pace (depending on your fitness)

I currently have a place to stay but if we can put together a nice group we can look into renting a cottage(s) 10-15 min from the park that can accommodate 4-6 people (with kitchenettes) for $31.00-$47.00 a night per person and what can be more fun than hanging out with sweaty, smelly and achey tri geeks for a couple of days! All abilities are welcome and on I can give some basic swim/bike/run tips

Who is in???

Sorry Jorge as you know I've had to cancel Timberman all together bc of of my accident.

I did want to let everyone else know that I just cancelled my room at B Mae's ( now Fireside Inn) for TM weekend.  3nights  8/17 - 8/19. $259 per. I stayed there last year and it was nice and real convenient ( 2 miles to the start). There for taking if anyone needs it.

$40/person per night sounds like a great deal for up here in-season. Where were you thinking?  If we can't get 6 people, I suppose we could camp at Gunstock...

yes that another option, I was just thinking that since we'll have a hard day on Saturday it would be nice to have a bed and a shower but I can adjust

Hopefully we can at least 6 people (you can pass along the info to others racing T-man)

The place I was looking at is called Half Moon Motel & cottages
