Subject: IronStar uncertainty?

Just visited their website and notice that the venue (Del Lago) is up for sale and the site of the race is still very much up in the air. Anyone have any scoop on it? This was my first HIM, very nice race, and I was considering doing it again.

Interesting... Since I'm moving back to Texas I had this tentatively scheduled.  I've heard nothing but great things about this race.  I hope they get something worked out.

I can't remember who it was, but I spoke with a guy at Lonestar who has discussed the '07 race with the RD. He said the race will go (at this point anyway) regardless. They may have to move some things around (like the transition area), but the plan is to have the race on basically the same course. FWIW anyway. Out Loud does a good job with their races, so I'd expect they would be upfront about things.

Bear you should come to Austin in Oct and do the Longhorn HIM. I enjoyed doing the Ironstar but lets face it the Del Lago was a semi dump and not cheap.

We didn't stay at Del Lago, but at a semi-dump that was cheap.

Yeah, Longhorn is a possibility, but entry fee is $65 more than Ironstar, I can do Ironstar and the semi-dump for less than just the Longhorn entry fee.

That, and Austin is two hours further away.
