Mental preparation and just staying loose.
Event warmup:

Went to the YMCA and did 1k in the water before the race to get my swimming 'ready'.

Felt strong and all I did was swim up and down the middle passing people. Not quite my fastest 700m swim but enough to keep me fresh for the bike and my weaker leg, the run.
What would you do differently?:

Get new googles.

I had pulled off my front derraileur before the race because it wasnt working great before the race. Even though it was a small hill, I had to grind up it in a 55x17...which wasnt fun

Really need to work on my run, if i am to stay competitive in the future and make the national team. Luckily I had enough time from the swim that I was able to keep my first place overall.
