They are supposed to be fixing Hughes. The work order has been in for a few weeks and they know the deadline so hopefully they'll get it done.

I also thought that Quakerbridge had some serious potholes on the right side but once you get on Village it gets smooth. Just my 2cents

Yeah, definitely a few on Quakerbridge but didn't seem as bad especially since they repaved/rebuilt that whole section.

In wave 4 and getting excited for the race.

HA!  My goal in the swim is to exit the water.  No chance of swimming over anyone, unless they have scuba divers videoing underwater for the keepsake DVD.

I do like the bike though.  And the run ain't bad.  That damn swim ....

This will be my 4th event in my first racing season - I am looking forward to it!

I am bib 364, as if that helps lol.   Yellow top/black bottom tri one piece.

Wave 3 here.

I feel bad for the OLYs...I will be having my massage with a cold beer in my hand before some of them even hit the swim start

The whole WS legal/non-legal issue is going to be a nail biter. I'm so glad I bought one this year versus betting on a rental (do I get one? do I not get one?...god I hated making those decisions). I was certain we would be suitless..but I am starting to wonder. It rained a lot more than I thoughtit would this week and its pouring out there now. Definitely throwing it in the bag.

I hope that the air temp is lower than the water temp  when we start maybe the water won't feel so cold.

Very very possible that air temp will be < water temp. Either way, that water wont feel cold for more than a minute. Mid to high 70s is almost perfect for a race IMHO. I put my foot in there last week at the boat ramp exit, and it barely felt "cold" at all. Should be perfect for sprinting, WS or not.

I agree. I've done the Peddie Lake swim on Friday and that water is about the same temp and it feels just about perfect though a bit muddy tasting

If it rains Friday like it did today, I am predicting a WS legal race.
Right now its about 65 degrees and its almost a "cold" drizzle. Unreal. Didnt see this coming given the weather at the beginning of the week and the forecasts at the beginning of the week. Its going to come down to the wire.

If signed up for as a relay does all athletes have to be at race packet pick up or can one person get the packet?

just drove down Hughes Drive in the opposite direction today but actually on the side of the road where we will be biking since they are out there patching pot holes on both sides of the street.  There is lots of loose asphalt now sitting on the road. I  heard it clunking around under my car and since we were on the side that we are riding on, I hope that it gets cleared up before Sunday morning.

It will also be nice to have Quakerbridge Rd at 100% after not having it the last 2 races! Everyone won't have to be bunched together at the intersection at Quakerbridge. I remember I almost took out two cyclists and a concrete barrier while making the turn last year!

I know, when will this day end! There's 5 of us from work here doing the race and we've just been going back and forth all day. Not real productive. I have a huge desire to go bike and/or run but will fight the urge and rest today.

I took the day off! Just needed a day to hang, and I knew I would be thinking about the race plan for most of it, so why fight it, right?
Nice day to just hang out with the wife, get some little things done, get the rack on the car, etc.

Can't wait. See you all out there tomorrow and Sunday!

Great day yesterday. THANKS CGI! Another awesome race. Can't wait until next year. It was almost a sad feeling coming into the finish chute knowing that the race I aimed to peak for since January was now over

My times werent totally what I wanted, but I still had a great race and was happy with my placing. I just can't seem to get my bike pace over the 22mph hump. UUUggh.

Hope everyone else had a great race day as well.

Have they moved that DAMN car that blocked the entire parking lot in yet? People were sitting and waiting to get out of the park from 9:30 til about 11:30 because some dumba$$ decided to park (and block) the only exit out of the back parking lot.
