Swim
Comments: I severely overswam the first turn (by about 100 yards) as I could not see anything out of my googles. Still ended up with a decent time and first in my age group. I probably swam too hard as I realized I missed the turn and wanted to make up some time - oops! What would you do differently?: pop the googles up sooner to see where I was Transition 1
Comments: T1 went very well with the exception of not being able to clip in for the first 25 ft of the bike. What would you do differently?: need to practice clipping in...only had the clip ins for a week. Bike
Comments: I am just not very good at the bike and need to train more. I do not feel like I hydrated enough. This was an OK time for me considering I had just bought my clip-ins and had only been out on my bike 3 times before the race What would you do differently?: Train more. Transition 2
What would you do differently?: Not much - my time was fine though I cant jump off a moving bike at this point. Run
Comments: Felt like I was going to be sick the entire time. Do not think I ate or drank enough bf or during the event. I had been running 7 1/2 - 8 min miles in training (3-6 mile pace) What would you do differently?: Need to hydrate and eat better - lost 6 lbs. Post race
Warm down: Went into the water - what felt cold bf felt great after! Gatorade and Water...ummm ummm good. What limited your ability to perform faster: nutrition, training....my own fault Event comments: I met so many nice people and the volunteers and police were wonderful....all in all a very fun day!
