Swim
Comments: being the 2nd last group to go we didnt start until 830 am. it was quite warm by then. i went out easy due to injured rib and cruised most of the way. goggles fogged alot this time.dont know why as they havnt done so before. will try and rectify this before next race got hammered being in the middle this time and didnt enjoy it much.lots of legs and arms ! What would you do differently?: next time i hope not to be injured and will be towards the front in cleaner water. Transition 1
Comments: good t1,passed a few coming out. What would you do differently?: nothing Bike
Comments: went well on bike and stayed within myself instead of going too hard and having nothing left for run. even so i passed 2 -3 of my a/g but also got passed by others.. all was good til i went to get feet out for t2 and right calf cramped massively coming in. had to put leg up on bars and pull toes back.didnt help much.only just managed to get other foot out and start running into t2. once i was running the cramp eased up but was still painful. What would you do differently?: dont get a cramp. Transition 2
Comments: grabbed hat this time and some chewy lollies.popped 1 in and ate on way thru t2. What would you do differently?: nothing Run
Comments: went out with a quick cadence but didnt feel great until 2nd lap when a friend who had finished earlier ran with me as pacer. he urged me on getting me to pick up the person in front and before i knew it i was passing people including my a/groupers. first time for me!finished the 2nd lap really strong. What would you do differently?: run as fast on 1st lap as 2nd lap.physically no difference just mentally more motivated and got into a good rythum. Post race
Warm down: water,gatorade and fruit. some stretching then slow jog cooldown. What limited your ability to perform faster: injury didnt help with swim but i was prepared for that otherwise it was ok to finish with a decent run.
