Two things ...

1. Uh ... thanks ... now I'm nauseous.

and

2. I'm too accustomed to COJ humor ... I was expecting a pic of a pile of Pontiff Poo.

Dude is like Spiderman

I showed this video to a Co-Worker who is a climber and he was just stunned. (Totally different level than what he climbs at I guess)

This looks like a cool DVD... but some (most) of the shots scare the cr@p out of me.

Wow, I'm saving that to read this weekend, thanks for the follow up info

edit - actually, reading the first paragraph reminds me that I read this in my copy of the mag.  sad.  stupid, but sad.

I used to climb.  No ropes for climbers is so much worse than no helmet for cyclists.  I used to get really nervous when people would act stupid on the rocks.

Wow...extremely impressed with the confidence and ability to be perfect at what he does, but the margin of error = his life.  (wrote this before scrolling down and seeing the link re: his death...as noted above, too predictable)

Thanks, but no thanks.

Cool vid, but this guy died doing a different sport, one that he really shaped, and in many was, was actually "safer" than what he's doing in this video.

Fascinating biography (it may have been a combination post-humus autobiography/biography I forget).

Getting inside his mind via the book was pretty wicked and gives you some understanding why he did this stuff. He would have imploded/exploded/become psychotic/committed suicide/homicide without this outlet.

I would never do it, but more power to them that do.

Impressive climb in any case. Those moves are fun, but not 400 feet off the ground. 10 feet of the ground yes, 400, no. Not without a rope.

I can't imagine having the physical strength and mental quickness that it must take to do something like that.  If I did, I hope I had the intelligence not to do it.   Like adventurbear said, 10 feet it would be fun, 400 feet....NFW!   Very sorry to hear the postscript to this story....
