I think Dan and I may be out too. We are thinking about going out of town. We don't know for sure yet but we're more likely to go out of town then to be here and do this ride.

I think me and Kraig would be interested in this.  June 30 might work best for us.  Chattanooga is the 7/15 and I'm not sure I'll want to ride that far the weekend before a race.  Not sure if we'll do the entire ride but we'll be up for Frankie's and back at the least!

So how many would be interested in the Bud Plant century instead of the SCT century?

I would be down for either; riding with 800+ folks sounds pretty cool.

Just FYI - the Cartersville Century in June isn't the 'Bud Plant' Century (that one is in October).  I would just hate for someone to show up at the wrong place on June 30th looking for a boatload of other cyclists.

I did the 55 mile option of the Cartersville Century last year though and it was indeed realy beautiful and well-run.  I would be up for the full this year if I wasn't out of town.

I thought when Budweiser moved into town, they shut down the town of Cartersville and just renamed the Budweiser plant.  Isn't the plant manager also the town mayor?

Just like Kennesaw has that required gun law, Cartersville ought to have a required beer law.

so since it's not the "bud plant" ride that probably means no free beer?

Where are we holding with this?  SCT?  Cartersville?  Beer?  All of the above?

I'm a definite maybe.  We are traveling sometime that week but I'm not sure yet when we're leaving.

I am out of town on the 3rd thru the 7th but I might be up for a 100 on June 30th. I like the SCT option because I will have to go to work afterward and its close to Dobbins.

Mila and Brett,

We'll make the decision as we get closer.  I like the idea of Cartersville (more people = better) but if we get enough people we can always choose the SCT.

Any update on route? Is the group locked in to the ride?

I'm still in for either.  My plans are to wait until the weekend prior to start bugging people.  If I can't get anyeone to commit, I will do the Cartersville ride, otherwise, I'd be happy to do the SCT with my internet friends.

Everyone's life would be much easier if they did the Cartersville Century on June 30th. Fully supported with rest stops. I have done this century years ago and it was good. If I do one this weekend, I think I will do it way.

Check out the web site: http://www.cartersvillecentury.org/

Greg,

I think that is my plan too.  I'd rather have a sagged ride with lots of folks.  Frankie's will happen one day though.

I could do either, but I think I prefer Cartersville. When can ride 100 on the SCT anytime we want, but the the Cartersville ride is an event. Sounds like a fun one too.

Ugggggghhh...

Was planning on doing Cartersville as well, but am somewhat torn now.  That's the day of the County swim meet and Madison will probably be swimming in it.  This said, last time she swam at County (2 years ago), I was solo with her and Patrick (who was 4 at the time) and it was a chore keeping up with her events and making sure he didn't melt down.  Beth's essentially given me a "pass" to ride, but swimming at County, in the GA Tech pool (same pool used for '96 Olympics) is a big deal...I'm back to "tentative" status.

Hmmmm - I might be up for the 55 mile option.  Don't think I'm quite ready for a full 100.
