enders_shadow - 2007-04-29 9:43 PM I was going to ask if being a professor counted, but then I realized I can tell crazy-students-with-spring-fever stories with the best of them...so I'm in! (And nah-nah-nah-nah - I'm done teaching for the spring! Ha ha ha! Just have exams to grade.) Kristen

Easy for you to say!  I'm one of those college students who is trying to finish up all the projects and papers that the profs have left until the end of the semester to lump together.  Study day is May 9th and our last final is on May 16th!  Summer classes start on June 18 (or something like that!)!

Tough noogies. Those projects and papers at the end of the semester were on the syllabus since day one of the semester, right? You could have been working on them at any point in time in the last four months! Besides, this thread is the teacher's lounge -- get out of here, shoo, shoo!

Ah, summer.

I think having several years as a teacher's aide at the local public school AND being in school full time (with novice teaching this fall) for secondary ed allows me to be here!

For the record, yes the syllabus does say that there will be projects and research papers due at the end of the semester but they were't assigned (topic-wise) 'til bout 3 weeks ago.

I taught French/Italian when I was in college, and did the same at Dartmouth summer programs for a while.

I am was a teacher.   I taught for 4 years as a Band Director/ Music Teacher.   I liked it, but I was at a school that the pay was very low and I had a 40 minute drive to work everyday.   I decided that for my families well being, I would take a job in the city I live in.   It just happens to pay alot better too, so I dont know if I am going back to teaching.      The original plan was to save up and get my masters and then go back to teaching.  I am not really sure if thats what I really want to do now.   Ask me again in a year, and I might be itching to go back.  But for now, I am content not teaching.

High school In-school suspension teacher for the past two years.   Two years as a high school World  History and World Geography teacher.  Three years as a Special Education teacher and one year in Alternative Education.

Looking for a new profession, but what can I get into to make real money?   Yes, I am very serious!  Ready to exchange the idea of helping student's for the reality of making money and helping my family.

Hmmm.....Not a teacher, in that I don't have an education degree.

But I've taught my fair share of subjects to eager young minds.

Fourth year high school Automotive Technology Teacher. I too am ready for May 25th to get here. This will be my first full summer to spend having fun with my family. The past three summers I have either built a house, sold a house, or bought a house. These activities are far from fun and am glad to be settled into out current house. We get a full 3 months off this summer due a change in start dates. Yeah!
