Pre-race routine:

We got lost on the way, so we arrived late. I was pre-registered, but the line was moving at a snail's pace. I barely got my number before I had to run to the start-line. Not a perfect start!
Event warmup:

Well because of the line delays, the race started 15 minutes late, which was great. It gave me time for a short warm-up run. I felt good. Wore my Zoot Tri-Suit, and it felt good while I warmed up.
Swim
  • 03m 45s
  • 164 yards
  • 02m 17s / 100 yards
Transition 1
  • 01m 30s
Comments:

Again, reverse Tri so T1 was actually from the run to the bike. It was good, I came in feeling good and fast as they'd shortened the run course. Got geared up and headed out quickly.

Comments:

T2 for the reverse Tri was from bike to swim so I racked my bike, took off the shoes, grabbed my goggles and ran to the pool.
Run
  • 18m 40s
  • 3.1 miles

Post race
Warm down:

Walked around, got some water, a few snacks. I felt pretty zapped for about 10 minutes, then I recovered pretty well. I walked back to the transition area, changed and walked around the finish some more. I had a few carbo drinks, more water, a banana and few cookies.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Nothing really, just training... work harder go faster. :)

This was a reverse Tri so the swim was actually last.
Suit: Zoot Tri Suit
Course: In Pool, 150 yards... very short, but seemed to really zap lots of people. I'm swim fit so I had no problems really. The water felt good at the end of the bike leg.

Course: The course was shortened for whatever reason so I don't really know exactly how long it was, but it was fast. I came in at like 18:30. If it was 2.5 miles instead of 3.1, that's still pretty fast for me. It was an out and back, basically flat and went well.
