Swim
Comments: Swimming is still by far my worst event. I barely made it through the whole 300 - but I did make it through with no breaks and no breast stroke. I stopped at the edge of the pool once for a few seconds to let one person pass me but that's it. The pool was a little choppier than I thought it would be with all those people in it, drank a little bit of water. What would you do differently?: Obviously just practice more. I need to take some lessons, and just swim swim swim. The swim is going to be the factor as to whether or not I will be able to do Pinehurst Olympic in October. Transition 1
Comments: This time seems very slow to me, but I don't really know what I did wrong. Everything seemed smooth. I guess I just need to work on tying my shoes faster and running faster in and out of transition and stuff. What would you do differently?: Not be so tired from the swim so I can be faster and less out of breath? Bike
Comments: The theme for this race report - train more, train more, train more. Transition 2
Comments: Also slow - just need to work on it. And get speed lacers on both pair of shoes. Run
Comments: I just never felt like I got into a rythym on this run. Since I had just done the half marathon, I thought this run was going to be a breeze but it really wasn't. I guess a run off the bike is really that much different than just a run. This was actually slower than my half marathon pace! What would you do differently?: Practice some more bricks I guess. Post race
Warm down: Walked around the street festival, ate some pizza. What limited your ability to perform faster: Training time mostly I guess. I am disappointed that I did not beat last years time because I feel like I have not progressed at all, but I guess I have progressed in endurance even if I haven't progressed in speed. I got there a little later than I did last year! Set up my stuff, went to the pre race meeting, then walked around bored for hours waiting for my swim time! Ate a little, drank a little, went to the bathroom a few times, all that good stuff.
Stretched a bunch, went for a couple short jogs, walked around a bunch, etc.
