Got The Nerve? Triathlon

There is a steep climb less than a quater of amile into the race. It is maybe 3/4 of a mile long, be can do damage if you push it too hard. I would suggest preriding this portion to give you an idea of what to excpect... walk it if you have to. the rest of the course is rolling. Nothing to be afraid of.

Pinch road is not that bad. Short steep section right at the beginning of the hill, the it levels out for a little bit (a very little bit) and pitches up again, but not as steeply. Then it levels out one more time before going up again. The last hill on Mt. Wilson road isn't hard either, but rather gradual and longish... I would recommend pre-riding the course for a confidence boost.

I live in the same town as you do. I'm not going to be around this week or next weekend, but can certainly going out early the week before the race to pre-ride with you if you would like to.

There's also a pair of longer, though flatter climbs, at the end. Pinch is a little steep--if you can ride it, even in your car, before then, it would be a good idea.
