Pre-race routine:

Got to race early and got a pretty good transition spot after getting the bike checked and body marked. Got transition area set and when I pumped up my tires broke the valve seal part of my presta. Not a good thing having to change a tube 1 hr before race.
Event warmup:

2 laps around swim course... NOT ENOUGH need to run some and stretch the legs some more...

Went out fast to get away from dragging people in my wake, Open wave had some fast swimmers. Exited water 3rd....
What would you do differently?:

Need to work on T1 exited 3rd from swim and started the bike leg 14th... flapped a little with my race number belt and T1 was horrible....

Got killed on T1... there is no other way to put it absolutelty horrible lost 30+ sec to the rest of the group in the Open wave

Need to work on the bike, Legs really hurt but I think that a proper warm up and strecthing would have alleviated some of that....Need to hydrate more too... The rest of the pack really took off from me on the bike leg avg 20 mph.

Walked around and got an assessment from the recovery Docs drank accelerade and water. ate ice cream and cookies

WARM UP AND STRECTH GOTTA MAKE TIME

Event comments:

Not too bad for my first tri, definetly learned some things that need to be improved upon. Great race had a blast, can't wait to do CAPTEX!!!!
