Did the Whiskeyman man today - what a wild ride!!! Swim was great (the first time I have been able to say that about an open water swim) the bike portion was 10 miles of goat trails, that I held a blistering 4.88 miles per hour pace!!!! We (meaning the pack of riders I was with) spent at least an hour, either horsing the bikes up hills that were too steep to ride, or manhandleing them down hills that were too dangerous to ride. The run was pretty uneventfull, except all the time spend hiking on the bike portion, finished off my legs before the run was over, and I had to do a lot of walking to stretch my quads out. See race report for all the details.

In terms of experiances, I would definetly recommend Offroad tri if you get a chance (and have a bike to use). I learned more about how my bike handles, how to shift, and how to brake in the 2 hours today than I have learned the last 2 years of training.

I am officially jealous. I recently got back out on the trails and did not realize how much I miss them.

Congrats on your finish.

Congrats! I am so impressed by anyone that can actually ride offroad. The only offroading I do is when I ride my mt. bike on the grass next to the sidewalk by my house. :-)

AWESOME! :D

There is an off-road Dual held about 5 miles from my house. I found out about it after I signed up for my first race or I would have done it (my race is the day after the Dual). I'm going to go down and check it out though.

Congrats on the race! I'm off to read your report.
