Swim
Comments: Snake swim in 8-lane pool. Felt pretty good, passed one person, then got stuck behind 5-6 people who were slower than me. I actually had to breast stroke a bit...grrr! What would you do differently?: Not get stuck? Transition 1
Comments: My bike was racked way in the back, so I had a longer run to transition than others... took the time to dry off feet before putting on bike shoes. I was cold so I threw my bike jersey on. Bike
Comments: Felt great on the bike, course was mostly flat with a couple of minor hills. Nobody passed me and I passed about a dozen people. It was a bit breezy and I was glad I put on my bike jersey. What would you do differently?: When I got home I realized that my tires needed air... Transition 2
Run
Comments: Legs felt fine coming off the bike, just keep putting one foot in front of the other. Since this is a very short race, I felt I could run hard for the duration. Post race
Event comments: This is the third time I've done this race. The good news is that I'm 3 years older and came in at around the same time. The bad news is that I didn't improve my time. I'm please to be in the top half overall and top third in my age group. I just wish my swim leg performance was on par with the bike and run. Last updated: 2007-03-16 12:00 AM

Got up @ 6 had coffee, cheerios and blueberries. I had a pretty decent night's sleep, so I felt good.
I live only 10 minutes away from race site, so I didn't leave till 7:15. Since it was a pool swim with the fastest starting at 8, I knew I would getin the water till 9:30 or so. Chatted with 69-year-old guy who racked his bike next to mine.
