Ok I must not be the only one with this lol

I am still a big guy and sweat a lot, and after I hit about an hour, especially to stop and rest, the sodium has built up it starts to get in my eyes and hurts a lot.

Now I normally where a hat or visor of some kind, and also try to wipe my forehead on my shirt sometimes, but does anyone have any tips as to what to do?  I can't imagine what people do at 10+ hour races.

I am also a big sweater. Also, living in Florida makes it a constant issue for me. In fact my running group refers to me as "Sponge Bob"! Last year I found and started using the Sweat GUTR:http://www.sweatgutr.com/ it works pretty good. It's the best solution I have found so far. I also use it when I bike, I just have to remember to drain the gutr before looking down by tilting my head back a bit to empty the Gutr. This is more of issue when riding the bike than running. Very easy to take care of also, just rinse with soap and you're ready for the next session. The web site has more details. Check it out.

Someone told my DH once to take chapstick and smear a line of it across your eyebrows and that it'll channel the sweat to the sides of your face rather than into your eyes....  HTH.

I'm not a big guy and I sweat...lots.  I use three strategies....

1. Nike dri-fit visor - which has a good band inside to help mop the sweat,
2. Sunglasses that fit against my face to help channel the sweat off to the sides and
3. an upside-down "V" of chapstick (insert "chap" joke here) on my forehead

These have helped me in the past.

Chap

Body glide on the forehead works as well.

Thanks for the tips!

I never thought of using chapstick/bodyglide.  I am going to give it a try on my next long ride.  I also might invest in a better visor as mine is soaked in about 30mins (cotton) and doesn't do much after that.

Thanks for the link Robdbirtch.  I never knew something like that existed.
