Well, if you classify yourself slow at 6:30, then what it the word for 7:24 which was my time last year?

What do I call 7:24? I think the best term is "MY PEOPLE." BTW, for those who have never read this short piece on "The Strugglers," here's some great inspiration (written by BTer and Bikesport Michigan guru Tom Demerly): http://www.whenbigboystri.com/Strugglers.htmThanks, Tom. Great writing.

Can I join this thread?  I feel like I am missing out on the party.  I will never forget the anticipation that I had the few days prior.  Work was a joke as I checked the weather and this board every 10 minutes (vs. ever hour or so now)

Yeah, Xan, way to insult me too   I just went from thinking of myself as slow to realizing I am molasses.

None taken. I was just making a joke. Well, not my time as it was more a survival mode for me. Thanks, that was a great article you provided on that link. thanks again.

Off course, I don't plan on being in the struggle category this year, since I've gone from 284 last years HIM to 237 for this years. Should make a difference. Happy racing.

Stupid question......is anyone going to bring a pump to the transition area? I know they will have them there but wasn't sure about the routine. My thought was to just pump it at my car and count on it being fine for 2+ hours until the bike. Any thoughts?

I usually do a pump when I get from my vehicle to T1. If needed later, use their assistance.

Have a great race

Heads up athletes! The run no longer goes thru the sand! I am volunteering and just got this in an email

The race course is no longer going to run via the sand (which was PERFECT for the sign holders), and now it is following the road route (YAY--this is better for the athletes!) We need empty, disposable containers to fill with sand! If you have something that will work, please bring it along with you on Saturday!
Good luck out there everyone
I love you!

I love you too, first beer at Karl Strauss is on me

I actually heard this through the grapevine this morning by way of the run course RD. (Even though the tide is low, the surf is up and the surge has pushed the water line up almost to the rocks)

This surely will make the run course quite a bit faster and certainly more enjoyable.

Hey guys and gals! I'm working registration. When I left tonight at 8, there were approx 700 of the 2500 registered racers that had been in to get their packages, which means tomorrow we're going to be stupid busy in registration I'll be there tomorrow from the time they open until they close and I'll be working the Hot Spot with Dan bright and early Saturday morning. I'll be out there screaming and hollering for you all! I'll probably see you at 6 p.m. too.

Yup, I am in for next year

I will be using IMCal as a substitute for my last long run in my marathon training for Boston. So it is not really a tuneup race as it is a nice way to kick off a 3 week marathon taper.

Hope to see everyone there next year and Paul, Lobby at 4:45 on Satuday
