Hi, I raced the Oly today too. Didn't fare as well as you, but, for my first Oly I'm not TOO disappointed. I bonked on my run and had to walk a bit, got a bit hot, and not sure if I fueled right. Congrats on your success! And, yes, the swim seemed long, do you know what the actual distance was? It looked long from the shore.

Awesome job! Especially considering how warm it was getting with the delayed start. I did the sprint and I thought it was long enough.

Are results posted online anywhere yet?

Tom - Race director said that results would be posted at www.tri-a-run.com by "tomorrow afternoon" (this was at the race meeting yesterday.) Well it is 5:15 and they are obviously not up. Anxiously awaiting!

GOOD job to the Oly's and Sprinters. It was HOT out there.

I did the Oly today and that was the longest .9 of a mile swim I've ever done!  The run was HOT.  Running the whole thing was not an option for me.  Kept cramping up.

My goal was to just finish and I brought in the back of the pack.  Great time though.

Having not raced an Oly in 3 years, I didn't notice the distance from feel but looking out at the water and comparing to the sprint course...either the Oly course seemed real long or the sprint course real short. Overall I thought he course was well marked, fast and clear of debri (one glass bottle on bike course), but was disappointed at the organization at the swim start and quality of aid stations along the course (no sports drinks).

I'll post more on my indiv performance in my race report. Congrats to all finishers!

OK, based on these results, I think the swim was a bit long and th run was definatley too long. The winner, Patrick Bless ran a 38 and change when he is a 36 and change 10K guy all day. I went 40:08 and I run sub 38's , so the run was fubar.

I'm with you on the lack of organization and sports drink. In fact, I'm writing letters to this race organizer and USAT on the topic of sports drink. That should be a requirement to be a sponsored event in my opinion. Especially when the during race temps are going to be over 90.

The distances felt close enough, and the course was well marked and selected. If you guys think it was long, then at least I have an excuse for my time
