Comments:

I think I was a little too nice during he swim. Kept catching up to people but had to physically stop swimming. Had no place to go!!!
What would you do differently?:

More open water swims. Try to get out in front from the beginning!!
Transition 1
  • 03m 56s
Comments:

Way to long in T1. Too worried about getting all the sand off my feet. Put on socks and shoes.
What would you do differently?:

Cut T1 time in half. Set up a water tray to rinse feet off. Be less picky about sand on feet.
Bike
  • 37m 40s
  • 11.4 miles
  • 18.16 mile/hr
Comments:

Good bike run. Tried to keep up with the fast bikes.
What would you do differently?:

Get a faster and lighter bike!!!!!
Transition 2
  • 01m 18s
Comments:

Thought it was a fast transition. Could have been a bit faster but almost ran out without my number belt.
What would you do differently?:

Just get more experience with the T2 part.
Run
  • 34m 12s
  • 4.1 miles
  • 08m 20s  min/mile
Comments:

Maybe pushed it a little harder.
What would you do differently?:

Drink more fluids. One leg started to cramp up the last .5 mile
Post race
What limited your ability to perform faster:

Inexperience,and not drinking enough fluids,

Event comments:

Not bad for my first Tri. Proud of myself.

congrats Stephen, you did great for the first one. I do believe the 5k was alot further than a 5k, most peoples times were way slow for a 5k. I think it was more like a 4mile.

I think I may have seen you, did you have to stop and try to strech your leg? I know I asked a guy if he was alright when I saw him stopped. Was that you?

Good job triathlete! Way to go, and heres to the next tri!

tiz.

good race Stephen. Sounds like you were more ready for the swim than you thought. The course was so short we were always surrounded by people, there was no time to break it up.

Good luck on getting that new bike.

Great race.  For your swim, you were right in the middle of your age group-you're a lot better than you make yourself out to be!!  So, have you signed up for the North Shore triathlon yet?
