Comments: First ever 5K not attached to a triathlon. Started kind of fast but walked way too much. Poor week of trainign and a nasty bout of bronchitis in the preceding weeks didn't help my time. My conservative goal was 30:00 and my aggressive goal was 27:00 so I missed both. What would you do differently?: Not get sick! Post race
Warm down: Walked it out, went to the food tent for oranges, bananas and bagels. Lots of water! What limited your ability to perform faster: Sickness mostly. Event comments: I had a friend die of melanoma so I ran this race in his memory. It was very inspring to see so many people honoring friends and family lost to this aggressive cancer. PLEASE WEAR SUNSCREEN! Triathlets are exposed so much that we really need to be careful! Last updated: 2007-05-22 12:00 AM

Arrived a little late, so I ran to the registration area, pick up the number and packet, then ran back to my car to drop it off. Actually a nice way to warm up.
PB sandwich and PowerBar Gel with water to eat.
