Swim
Comments: Raegan (rgill), my husband, was timing my swim and said I was right on my predicted time of 6:00 for the 1st 150yds, but then I ran into a lot of bottle necking! So, I fell short of my time, but overall not too bad of a swim. What would you do differently?: Be more aggressive and not so nice! Transition 1
Comments: Had the fastest T1 time of my age group! I'm very pleased about that, especially since we had to endure a painful, pebbly run across the parking lot! It did take some time making sure my feet were free of the pebbles before putting on my shoes. What would you do differently?: Maybe I need to start thinking about getting on my bike when it's moving. But, I don't think it would save that much time. Bike
Comments: Pretty happy with my ride. I could have done without the hills and the bumpy rodes, but a part from that, not too bad. :) What would you do differently?: I need to do some more hill training! Give me flat, smooth roads and watch out! :) But, hills- oh, no! Also, I guess I REALLY should pay attention to my HR DURING the race and not just look at it after the race. If I had, I would have seen that I could have pushed it a lot more than what I did. Transition 2
Comments: Rank- 3/10. Not too bad. What would you do differently?: nothing Run
Comments: This was my best run time in a tri (not counting a reverse tri where the run was 1st). My legs felt dead for about the first 2 miles, and then they felt great! I walked through the first aid station so I could rinse down a gu w/ water. After that, nothing but running. What would you do differently?: Just like w/ the bike, my HR shows that I could have pushed it a lot harder. I need to really look at my HR and use that info to help me get the most out of me. Post race
Warm down: Met up with my hubby and boys, who came out to jockstrap. :) Then, I ate, drank, and socialized some more w/ friends. I collected my hardware and then walked around the pond looking at the ducks with Raegan and the boys. What a fun time! :) What limited your ability to perform faster: Not paying attention to what my HR was telling me. Event comments: I was concerned about the bike course before the race, but it really wasn't too big of an issue. I really enjoyed this race! Last updated: 2007-05-04 12:00 AM

Went to bed a little later than what I should have- 11:20pm. Woke up and had a bagel, banana, cup of gatorade, and coffee. Arrived at the race site around 5:30am, set up transition, socialized, and checked out the pool. I lost track of time socializing so I didn't get in a warmup like I was planning (I usually do better when I do one), and I forgot to look where the run in/out and bike in/out were. I think I need to keep my socializing to AFTER the race! :)
Ran out of time for one. Not good!
