Boy did I goof!!! My second tri and my second time screwing up T1. Very frustrated about this one. Everything was going great. Came into T1, put on all my cycling gear and was out the gate. Once I got to the mount line, I realized (to my dismay), my seat was all the way down. I had to run back into the transition area from the entrance side and have my seat raised and tightened. I don't have a bike rack yet, so in the morning, I had to put the seat down to fit the bike in through the trunk and into the back seat area. Well, needless to say, I racked my bike prerace and forgot to readjust my seat. I felt like such an idiot. But I got over it, got the seat up and got on my way. Left T1 twice. How many people can say they did T1 twice!
What would you do differently?:

Remember to cross my T's and dot my I's...and raise my seat.

Comments:

Not sure if the time is right on this. As I already mentioned, I screwed up T1. My chip times got messed up due to me leaving the transition area twice. On the results page, it has 49:45 as my T2 time. Obviously that's not right. My bike time on the results page says 1:42. I already added that to my T1 time in this race log. Not sure what my T2 was but I think the run time is correct. If anyone has any ideas on how to somehow reverse engineer these times to get them back to correct....I'd love to hear.

Again, not sure about T2. My times are in the wrong order.

Other than my goof in T1, I had a great time.

Don't sweat it--we all screw up something on race day. The point is that you fixed the problem and pushed on.  Looks like you turned in a strong race, way to go!

Thanks for the encouragement. Other than that one major screw up, I do feel like it was a strong race. I want to improve my swim and modify my road bike so I can at least get in the aero position. I think that will help my times. That, and get out of T1 without any drama.
