Pre-race routine:

Very cold - ate meal replacement bar while driving to the race. Sat in the car after registration to stay warm.
Event warmup:

Minimal stretching and jumpin in place to stay warm once out of the car.

Comments:

Felt good. concentrated on foot placement technique - worked because my calves were sore a little lower than usual.
What would you do differently?:

Hydrate more before the race.

Walked until cooled down - had a banana and yogurt with four bottles of water.

Only had to walk for about 30 feet approximately 2/3 through 3rd mile during last bit up uphill.
Course: Course was a nice neighborhood run. Good mile markers with volunteers shouting out times as you passed by (nice to know pace - gave me a little bit more oomph knowing my pace time.
