In CR tradition, it was a slap/kick fest!! I tried to stay near the newbie friends to make sure they didn't drown. They were all worried about the swim portion.

Had a brake rubbing and a sensor clicking on the frame the ENTIRE ride. Everyone I passed asked me WTF was wrong with my bike! I didn't want to stop to fix it, so just rode harder to keep my speed up. I really wanted to average over 20, but was JUST under. damnit!

I froze my aerobottle the night before and it worked perfectly for the 70.3, however...it doesn't for a sprint I discovered! I had no fluids that were thawed. dumbass!

Saw Sue, Q, and Jess on the bike. Exchanged whooop whoooop's.

Felt pretty good. I was winded the entire run and really needed fluids. I tried to keep a consistent pace because I suck at pacing. I wanted to go sub 10, and again came up short. Ran with a fella who was pushing a wheelchair. We chatted about the races they have done, very interesting and he was consistent with a 10 min/mile pace!

Saw Q, Jeff, Brian, Sue, and Jess on the run. High fived almost everyone--that was paying attention!! :) GO GATORS!!

Grabbed a water, went back to cheer on my friends. Waited on the awards ceremony to collect the hardware, then went to Denny's for breakfast with the crew.


I love this race. It's small enough that you get to see everyone on the course a couple of times, and yet there are some really fast peeps out there to chase, AND...they have a small Athena group so I can almost always come home with hardware!! It's all about the bling baby!!
