I picked up a Mercier Corvus when I thought that I was going to do primarily road races and road it a couple of times in triathlons. (I picked it up from Bikesdirect.com)

Then I started converting it to a tri bike and have been somewhat pleased. Overall I have added a Profile Design 0 degree carbon seat post, Profile Design Air Stryke aerobars, cut out seat, and other odds-n-ends. All in all, I think that I have spent close to $1000-1100 after everything was said and done.

Since I have converted the bike, I am almost at the typical placement for a tri bike, almost but not quite on the degrees. I am actually selling the bike to replace it with a all carbon bike and upgrade that along down the line.

My neighbor has a Mercier touring frame. Seems like a perfectly nice low-cost frame. He sure can smoke me with it.
