We are coming in on Friday so that my daughter can do the IronFish Tri on Saturday so we will be available anytime after that (until the race on Sunday).

In previous years, we got together at packet pickup (noonish on Saturday) and to carboload Saturday night (Macaroni Grill). If you guys want to do that, let us know how many reservations you need, maybe we can talk mnewton into making arrangements for us, if not I'll do it long distance. He's already said he'll join us if he can, if he can't we still get his lovely wife Heather and his precious little girl Paige.

Where you guys staying? We booked at something called America's Best Value Inn. Looked decent, it's in the casino district and it was cheap ($54).

If nothing else, we can try to get together race morning, but that's usually harder to do with everyone setting up transition and warming up and standing in porta potty lines.

So who's in for Macaroni Grill?

Most likely.  I'm 99% sure.  But I'll have to get back to you on that in a few days.

Hmm, I'm coming to WATCH the race...gotta feed my addiction somehow with only one race for me this year.  Anyway, it would be nice to meet everyone beforehand so that I can cheer and perhaps take pictures on race day.  I might could come to the dinner.  What time are y'all planning to meet for dinner?  I  have a 150 mile ride that day, but since I don't have a swim beforehand like usual, I don't have to drive up to the lake and I can start in the dark with my lights if I needed to.  So I might could make it.

Of course, this is dangerous for Bear and I to be planning a get together...the last time we were supposed to meet up, hurricane Rita came through

Yep, it's been a long-delayed meeting. I never did do my double century.

I'm thinking early, like 6, 6:30, 7 at the latest, since we have to be up early.

Okay, so let's say 6, that means I need to leave here around 5ish, which means I need to be finished with my ride around 4ish.  So if I average around 15 mph, that's 10 hours, so that means I need to start around 6 am.  I think that could work...if I can get moving in the morning, but perhaps getting to meet a bunch of BTer's will be good motivation   Okay, count me hopefully in!

Oh, that was so bear's doing!!   He didn't really want to do the double century.  Me, I had my bags packed, maps out, directions to his house....hmm, maybe he just didn't want me in his house

No hotel for me, I'll just drive back and forth from Longview...but I'm not racing either...what a slacker!

Oh, that was so bear's doing!!   He didn't really want to do the double century.

Yep, I was so undertrained for that double (longest traing ride was only 130 miles), that I had to produce a devastating weather system to get out of doing it.

Cool

Hello gang,

LLP1970 and I will be racing RiverCities as well. This will be Laura's big sprint triathlon event since her very first triathlon was at Groovy Girls I and it was a mini sprint with only a pool swim.

We're coming into this conversation rather late.

A bit of two cents here.....would it be possible to meet for dinner a little earlier say around 5 p.m. or 5:30 pm? We're thinking that dinner would take at least 2 hours and that would put us free to go (or free to hang out more) around 7 or 8 p.m. and we would like to be winding down by then since this is a big triathlon distance for us newbies.

Since we're local to Shreveport, I would totally be willing to get reservations for us at Macaroni Grill once we get a head count.

Let me know.....we'll be 2 for this dinner, of course!

Excited to see new folks coming to RiverCities....I can't wait to see the swag!!

Okay, so I'm assuming that I'll be making reservations at Macaroni Grill for 5:30 p.m. Please let me know if this is NOT the case.

So far we have:

Sharona1973, LLP1970, 3Newtons, 2CBarnes, 5Bears?, 1Jcbolton?, 3mkmbharris?

Need confirmation by Tuesday because we have a feeling that it's going to be a carboload feista in Shreveport with 2000 triathletes in town for RCT.

We probably won't make it.  We are traveling with a big group from Austin and don't know what the plans are yet.  If we can make it, we will call and see if we can add a table to the group.
