From the looks of the BT'ers signed up and knowing some of the other "usual suspects" who do the Tri the Parks races, this is going to be a fast race...

After two HIM's in three weeks, I cannot tell you how forward I look to this sprint. I plan on redlining the whole thing.

I did Indian Springs last year.  It is a good race.  The run goes through the camping areas, which have some nice hills in them if you are into that sort of thing.   The run from the swim to the transition area (if they set it up the same way they did last year) is a little ways to go, but not too bad.  I brought some flip flops to slide on to run through the grass and stuff but ended up not using them.  The bike is pretty nice, I think there is a really fast down hill going into the end of the ride which goes right into the main road that goes through there, last year they had some police there to manage traffic, but still a little hairy.

I just got back from donig BRAG - 330 miles across GA, not sure if I am going to do the race this weekend.  Good luck to all.

NICE!  That would look truly smashing with my silver platinum and and lavender bike... but since I won't be riding I'll just wear it around so anyone who hasn't met me yet can recognize me.  I'd bring my new BFF, Michellie, with me but I don't want to cause any distractions while you all are racing... I'm such a giver.

Good luck guys!!!!

I can't wait to meet the BT crew.  It's always great to meet more BTers.  It's always hectic to try and meet before the race.  Perhaps we can arrange a place to meet after.  I'll be competing in the darkie division, so it shouldn't be hard to find me.  :P

For anyone who's not familiar with the area, there is a great barbeque joint very close to the park.  My family has been going to Fresh Air barbeque for over 50 years.  It only offers pulled pork but it's reeeeaaal good.  I'll be stopping by afterwards if anyone wants to join me.

Increase that reservation by 2.  The Dancy clan will join!  I Love BBQ.  Do you have directions from the race site?

Fresh Air is yummy!! I have stopped there the past 3 years after the race. I would love to join you but I am either 1) trying to get in a long ride, or 2) sitting on my behind because my shoulder is too messed up to ride or swim (See my log). Have a great race!

From Indian Springs State Park:

Turn Left out of the park on hwy 42.

In less than a mile turn North on US 23

Fresh Air will be about a mile or so down on the left.

See you there!

Do they serve breakfast?  That would be great right before the running hills...

I might meet you guys after the race (assuming you are not already done eating by the time I finish).

Look for me with JID written over my heart in memory of my dad who passed 2 weeks ago to a sudden, unexpected cardiac arrest.
