Pre-race routine:

Rush home from work, pick up Karen & Maddie and load up the car. Had to pick up Amanda at school and then get all of them dinner at the BK Lounge.
Event warmup:

3 laps on the track. 2 at speed, 1 semi-relaxed

Comments:

Went out kind of hard. Expecting to see that laps 1-3 were strong with a drop off for lap 4. Then, picked it up for 5-7. Tried to work on consistency and keeping overall speed up not just hammering down the back stretch. My speeds going in Turn 3 were lower than normal since I was trying to hold the overall avg up. I couldn't get comfortable in the aero bars on my road bike. It's a different set up than my TT bike plus one of the forearm pads flew off while we were driving to the track so my arm was on bare metal. Not very comfortable and somewhat distracting
What would you do differently?:

Nothing--I pushed really hard. I just didn't have it in me today to beat my PR

Slow easy ride back to the start/finish to pick up the girls. EZ ride to the car, just trying to spin my legs

Feeling very frustrated. Felt like I did a much better job of maintaining speeds but I think my time is slower than the last 2 events. Admittedly, I had several things going against me tonight--had to ride the road bike as the TT bike is under repairs, temp was over 90degrees, and I just finished my first Oly last Sat. Still, I'm aggravated. I really hoped to do better.
