Do you have to ride over the bridge or just run it?  It is one big bridge!!  Good luck!

Oh my gosh!! So, we had to ride over the bridge at the end of the bike portion, immediately u-turn, then go back up the bridge (with no momentum whatsoever), and then down to transition...THEN, we ran out of transition, and had to go up the bridge AGAIN, do a u-turn once we got back to the bottom, then back up the bridge, then the rest of the race...WOW!!!

Umm, just WOW...for florida, that was tough!!

LOL, how I did is relative...for me, it was ok...7 out of 13 in my age group...
My husband WON his age group (30-34)...it was the first time he actually won, so it was really exciting

Oh yeah, I meant how did you do for you.   I'm always at the very end if not last in my age group but I still think I did well.  At Miami Man I was 7th to last out of everyone but I was so happy with it!  Congrats to your husband - that must have been so exciting!

Got another question...this was supposed to be a Reional Championship...so when my husband won, he got a plaque that says regional champion...but what does that mean/if anything?!?!

you know, that's a good question - with Oly's it generally means it's a nationals/worlds qualifier - it's not clear to me from the USAT website what it means for a sprint, except maybe the possibility of a roll-down?

here's the USAT info page: http://www.usatriathlon.org/Events/RegionalChampionships.aspx

The 2007 Regional Championship races (intermediate distance only) that are listed below will qualify the top 33 percent or top five finishers (whichever is greater) in each age group for the National Age Group Championship. 2007 Regional Championship events will also be used as qualifiers for the 2008 World Championships in Vancouver, Canada (June 7-8). Each Regional Championship race will be used to fill an additional 10 slots per age group (one per region). The top age group winner will qualify for the 2008 World Championships with slots rolling down to 3rd place. Age group winners will have two weeks to secure their slot. If the age group winner declines their Worlds slot, the roll down process will begin. The roll down process will be given a two week deadline from the deadline date of the age group winner. 2007 Regional Championship selected events will also be used for a lottery system to fill the unclaimed slots in each age group. The lottery selections will be made on November 14, 2007.

hm. i wonder if this means my husband should've raced age or if they'll count him for age anyway?
