Johnny Bee - 2007-06-29 6:53 AM How cool is it that our names are printed on our bib numbers? This is the first time (in my limited experience) I have seen that.

Very fun!  I will get my packet today in Coon Rapids so I'll look forward to seeing that!

I know! This is the first race with a name on the race number for me too. Cool.

teachertrek - 2007-06-28 7:19 PM Just picked up my very first tri race packet. I'm getting excited. I was impressed at how well organized it was picking things up at Penn Cycle.

LOL You must not have been there right at 3:00. It was a little, um, chaotic at first. Glad to hear they got the wrinkles smoothed out later in the day.

Note to people who are getting their packets today--If you are supposed to be in the wave with gold caps (females 14-34, not novice), the caps are actually midnight blue.

I just checked the weather on two different sites for tommorow.  The general consensus is....67 degrees and sunny during race time with a 4 m.p.h. southerly wind.  Someone couldn't have scripted better weather for this race.  I'm thinking were going to see a lot of p.r.'s tommorow and a lot of really happy first timers.

If tomorrow's weather is anything like today... Perfection! I did a short brick this morning and it felt good. Tomorrow is going to be great! The drive up there... not so much. I think we will be leaving here around 4:15am. Yikes. Looking forward to meeting some of you tomorrow.

The weather should be STELLAR!!!!!

As for going out afterwards, we'll see what my roommate and her boyfriend are thinking. I'm probably going to be at the back of the pack, so you folks may have already left.....plus I have to work my other job later that night....we'll see how tired I am.

Ack....I'm so excited!!!

Pre-good luck wishes to everyone!!!  My wife and I are gonna be everywhere between Farmington and Coon Rapids from about 3:30 'til 9 tonight, so not much BT time today...buying last minute tri gear...PICKING UP RACE PACKETS (should've gone to Bloomington yesterday...totally slipped my mind)...PERFECT WEATHER...now I'm nervous...there won't be ANY EXCUSES!!!

P.S....Bryan and Kelly, was that you at Lake Nokomis this morning?  Cindy and I got there about 6:20am, and a guy and gal with wetsuits were getting out just as Cindy and I started out our 1st laps...if it was, sorry we didn't stop swimming and say 'hi.'  Been a busy week...just decided late last night on the OWS thing this morning...

Sal-You and your wife will sure be logging the miles today! We both have a long drive tomorrow to get to Oak Grove. My kids are excited about going but not leaving at 4:45.

Rest up today! What a glorious day. No wind even. Tomorrow will be the perfect day. I'm looking forward to meeting everyone.

Must have been a damn fine looking couple to have thought it was us Sal(Where did my smilies go anyway?).  But no, at that exact moment I was still blissfully asleep in my comfy little bed.

Good luck, everyone. I couldn't be more jealous. It is going to be a PERFECT day for a Tri tomorrow. Love this weather.

By the time I tried to sign up, waiting list was over 100 long and now we've made other plans. But I'll be looking for the race reports!

Sorry Autumn, was off-line from about 3pm to 9:30pm, otherwise I would have checked with you to see what we could have done about packet pick-up.   Sorry.  We'll see you tomorrow...

It was such fun seeing everyone today!  We certainly did BT proud.  Hooray for our 1st timers and congrats to those with podium finishes (Autumn, Dave, Becki ...anyone I'm missing?).  Face it...BT MN rocks!

(And yes, I was the one who left the sign at home - it's just not on my pre-race checklist, I guess! Sorry!)

Which race are you doing in August, Autumn?

it was great to see who I saw at the race. I'm definitely sore, but so incredibly happy. I was hoping to be a little faster, but with the goggle issues I was having, I'm happy with how I did. Yay!!!

What races are folks doing next? I have Danskin Chicagoland next week, then nothing set in stone until September for the IronGirl Duathlon in bloomington.

Being so incredibly happy seems to be a side effect of all this.

I have HOLT, Brewhouse, and Lakes Country on my schedule right now and may add Irongirl...

Hey team: It was great to see everyone today. My time was not what I wanted (second to last on the whole course) but the support was too much to comprehend. I am still not sure I am processing it. between the BT group and the YWCA staff I can not tell you how I feel (loved mostly). I was going to come over for ice cream at cold stone but after noddles and company with my mom and husband, it was time for a nap.
I was an amazing day that I am glad I do not have to do again for while.

My next races:
7-14 Charities Challenge at Lake Como,
7-21 YWCA Sympathy Swim for Chanel Swim( think about doing it swim for up to 5 hours, talk about endurance) (( wow they really have us trained at the YWCA to sell our agency!!!!)).
8-5 The sporting life 5k lake Calhoun (run)
8-18 Boston Scientific 10k lake Nokomis (run)
9-9 St. Paul Classic (bike 15 mile route)- belly pending (I am 7 weeks pregnant this was my babies for tri!)
9-22 Bolder Dash Lake Nokomis 5 or 10k belly pending
10-6 TCM 5k with YWCA youth

alot in one post.
take aways:" great race, love to connect with more BT peeps at upcoming events.

I had a great time today.  Thanks everyone for being so supportive for my first "real" tri.  Sorry I couldn't chat with you more, I need to stop inviting parents and other peripheral folks to these events and just enjoy the after events.

Everyone did great!   It's was fun to see everyone.

My next schedule race is the IronGirl Du in September, but planning on the Tour de Tonka (65) and probably one more tri.  I think I will stick with sprints this year and then spend a lot of time in the pool this winter to prepare for an oly

I had a good time seeing different people. I saw some BT people. I also saw one of my son's old school teachers, and a service tech for our phone system at work, and just other people that I have met from other Tri's. Good luck to everyone the rest of the season. My next event will be the Chisago sprint.
